The Clifton Monroe Chronicles is a staged radio-play that follows the adventures of ace reporter, Clifton Monroe and his quirky sidekick Mattie as they scour the streets of New Orleans solving the biggest mysteries in the name of truth, justice and a “killer” headline.
This show is a re-imagining of popular radio shows from the 30s and 40s, such as The Green Hornet and The Shadow; live sound effects are created onstage by the show's foley artist to accompany the actors and create the world of Clifton Monroe right before your ears and eyes!
Episode 2: The Case of the Murderous Mister premieres at the Shadowbox Theatre this October!
Clifton and Mattie are hot on the trail of a vicious killer bent on taking out the city’s sultrier ladies of the night. Who is this villain and why are working girls the target? There’s a story there and our investigative reporters plan to ink it!
Returning to the cast are Richard Mayer as Clifton Monroe and Leslie Boles as Mattie Parker. Joining the cast are Ashton Akridge, Jake Bartush, James Howard Wright, Laurie Kaufman and Kathryn Talbot. Harold Gervais directs.
Performances are October 4-6, 11-14 and 18-21 at 7:00pm at the Shadowbox Theatre, located at 2400 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans. Tickets are $12 for Adults and $10 for students with a valid school ID. The Shadowbox Theatre is offering a “Sidekick Special” in which two tickets may be purchased for $20.
